We are currently recruiting for the below position - to be appointed March 2023
The role is to serve Post Office customers offering all of the Post Office products and services provided by our branch. You will also undertake the full range of Post Office back office activities. You may also be asked to serve shop customers from time to time.
Your role will include:
Meet and greet customers and give a good impression of the Post Office, Village Shop and Café
Sell stamps and deal with letters and parcels
Sell P.O. financial and retail products and services to meet targets
Serve personal and business banking customers (deposits and withdrawals)
Pay out pensions and benefits
Deal with gift cards, bill payments, phone top-ups, electric and gas top-ups
Deal with vehicle registrations and car tax
Sell foreign currency
Complete back office admin tasks, stock management and P.O. balancing
Polite and helpful when communicating with customers
Able to use numbers and handle cash accurately and confidently
Able to learn the shop till and PO system (full training will be provided)
Able to pay attention to detail and keep your concentration while handling important documents
Able to learn about the different services and forms that customers might ask about
Able to promote these services
Capable of working under minimum supervision and as a member of a team
Able to work well under pressure at busy times
Previous experience working on a till / bank / P.O. would be useful
Can do attitude
DBS mandatory on successful appointment
You will work at the Green Hammerton Village Shop, Post Office & Café serving the local community in a fun and friendly environment.
Pay is dependant on experience £9.50 per hour - £11.50 per hour
Hours will be part-time and will include every second Sat morning. Paid holiday 20 days pro rata per annum. The P.O. is closed Sundays and bank holidays.
